Abstract
In recent, The environmental challenge resulting from the Various pollutants has caused concern to humanity. Among them, pharmaceutical pollutants in wastewater have a significant percentage. The use of antibiotics is high due to their widespread use and easy access, and they can enter the environment through various routes. Ciprofloxacin (CIP), as a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, is high Biodegradable and it’s harmful to the environment and aquatic ecosystems. CIP is not removed by conventional wastewater treatment processes and It requires a new purification process. In this study, the ability of hexagonal zinc oxide nanoparticles synthesized by sol-gel method and calcination at 275°C to perform the photocatalytic process of ciprofloxacin purification was investigated, Which had high removal efficiency. The experimental design was carried out using Design Expert software, and the effective factors and optimal conditions were obtained, which showed that zinc oxide nanoparticles are useful in this process, and that the process is green method and environmentally friendly.
